The articles on this site all explain different aspects of the calorie shifting plan, so it’s time to put it all together in one place.

Calorie shifting is a recent breakthrough in the science of weight loss. Conventional diet and exercise programs, as heart healthy as they may be, are slow and often “plateaus” are experienced when fat loss practically ceases. While the dieter is no doubt improving his general health and feeling better, this phenomina often leads to discouragement.

Through years of research, experimentation, and testing, the answer was found. By “shifting calories” in a certain pattern over a period of time, it was found that the plateaus could be avoided. Not only that, but test subjects lost weight at nearly twice the rate experienced by conventional dieters. Thus, the calorie shifting plan was developed and perfected.

The same fundamental fat loss truism still prevails. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. But now, with the calorie shifting plan, your body does not adjust to the lower caloric intake level, which previously forced you to lower it again and again, while exercising harder and harder. This means that you never have to go hungry on the calorie shifting plan, or to the gym either if you don’t want to. Two half-hour walks per day are recommended for best results.

The other major benefit of calorie shifting is its simplicity. With conventional diet plans, you have to calculate your basil metabolic rate (it took me two days to find out what that meant!), how many calories to consume each day, and how much to exercise. Then, the meals consisted of a certain percentage of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. You have to read labels, calculate how much of this and that to eat at each meal, and design a menu that will make all of that happen. Who has time for all of that? The diet plan consumes your whole day. That may be fine for the rich and famous, but you and I have to work for a living, clean house, cook, and raise the kids.

The calorie shifting plan provides you with menus for exactly four meals each day, you eat until you are satisfied but not overstuffed. Done. All you have to calculate is how much time you are saving by following the calorie shifting plan, and how much money you can afford to spend on your sleek new wardrobe!

There are other important aspects of the calorie shifting plan, but the one that really catches the attention is the 3-day break at the end of each 11- day cycle. You are required to eat whatever you like during these three days. You should still eat only until you are satisfied and not overstuffed. But the fact that there is a “light at the end of the tunnel” keeps many people on their weight loss program, instead of giving up in dispair.

So if you don’t need to lose a lot of weight, just want to live healthier, feel better, and have more energy, a conventional diet plan like Tom Venuto’s “Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle” will suit you just fine.
